In case the frame is lost or breaks, you can back up your frame and keep your media safe with or without a Frameo account, This can be done by using the backup to SD card feature.
With a Frameo+ subscription, the new feature Cloud backup can be used instead, or as an extra safety precaution.
There are two ways to get started!
The backup can be initiated from either a smartphone or a frame.
Cloud backup initiated from phone
In the Frameo app, go to your Connected frames:
- Tap the icon on the left-hand side of your app
- Tap Connected frames
In the menu, you will see your connected frames (see example below)
- Tap the frame you want to create a cloud backup for
- In our guide example, we will be making a backup for the McCartney frame
- Make sure you read and understand what is presented to you
- Tap Set up cloud backup → Next → Understood
- On the Frame, a notification will appear
- Tap the notification on-screen or go to Settings → Backup and Restore
- If you want to allow the requester to make a cloud backup, tap Allow
- The backup will now be initialized. The process can be inspected on the frame by going to Settings → Backup and Restore → Tap the backup you want to inspect
- NB: The encryption password is used if both phone and frame is lost, to recover your photos. Please note it down, for safe keeping.
- Automatic backup can be toggled off - if data usage is a concern.
-
Backup now will trigger the backup process to begin immediately, whereas otherwise it will be done in the background, at a scheduled time
- In the Frameo app, the status symbol will appear when a frame is successfully backed up
- To see a full list of status symbols and their meaning, check out the "Status symbols explained" panel at the bottom of the page
