The error message 4-9000 usually appears because of Wi-Fi and connection issues that can can be caused by various factors, including a poor Wi-Fi signal or certain network and Wi-Fi settings. If you get the error message Error 4-9000, here are some troubleshooting steps to narrow down and hopefully solve the problem.
1. Make Sure That the Frame Is Online
For the frame to perform a Cloud Backup, it has to be properly connected to Wi-Fi.
It is important that the connection status is displaying: Connected (see picture below for reference).
You can check if a frame is online and connected to the internet by following this guide: Is My Frame Online?
2. Perform the Cloud Backup Manually
To make the frame perform the cloud backup manually, you can go to:
- Settings
- Backup and Restore
- Tap the cloud backup
- Tap Backup Now
Backing up manually might seem like an extra step, but it can sometimes be surprisingly helpful. Automated backups are convenient, but they can sometimes fail without warning. When you back up manually, you might be able to kickstart the backup process, for the frame to backup automatically in the future.
3. Reset the Frame's Wi-Fi
If backing up manually does not help, you can try to reset the frame's Wi-Fi. To do this, go to:
- Settings
- Wi-Fi
- Tap the three small dots in the upper-right corner
- Tap Reset Wi-Fi
The frame will reset its Wi-Fi configuration and restart, and you can try to connect to the Wi-Fi again.
If resetting the Wi-Fi does not help immediately when the frame is connected to Wi-Fi again, please try to go to:
- Settings
- Backup and Restore
- Tap the cloud backup
- Tap Backup Now
