You can import videos from an external storage device like an SD card or a USB flash drive (depending on what your frame supports).
Frames vary in their hardware specifications, which means that some frames will be better equipped to handle larger videos than others. You can find requirements for video files below.
Requirements for Importing Video
There are specific limits for video files, which have to be met to be able to import the videos to the frame. These limits vary depending on your frame's screen resolution.
You can find your frame's screen resolution by going to Settings -> Help -> Support.
|
Less than 1080P | Equal to or greater than 1080P |
Video Format |
.mp4 or .3gp |
.mp4 or .3gp |
Max Bitrate |
10 Mbps | 100 Mbps |
Max Resolution |
720p (1280 x 720p) |
1080p (1920 x 1080) |
If the video does not meet these requirements, the frame will not be able to import the video.
Recommended Limits for Importing Video
Your frame may show a warning in case the video file does not meet the recommended limits for video import. In many cases you will be able to import the video regardless of the warning. However, we strongly recommend following the recommended limits to ensure a smooth experience with your frame.
For more information, please check out the techincal recommendations for video in the article Supported Media.
Transcode Video
If a video does not match the recommended limits, we suggest that you transcode the video to match the recommendations.
There are plenty of tools (e.g. video editing software, video converters, video transcoders etc.) that make it possible to convert and transcode videos to match these recommended limits.
Although we're unable to provide support on how to use any specific tools, we enjoy using the free and Open Source video transcoder HandBrake, which is supported on Windows, Mac and Linux.
